The rockets got off to a great start, playing flowing, passing football and within the first 10 minutes the Croydon goalkeeper was tested several times, both Indie and Joya displayed great vision and tenacity to set Kasey free and her effort whistled just wide of the far post, Kasey then had a strong shot saved by the keeper after again Joya had provided an inch perfect pass and then Joya had a curling effort which was destined for the top corner well saved, Yasmin also hit the foot of the post after good work from Joya.
As the rockets applied more and more pressure it would only be a matter of time until the opening goal came and that goal came on 12 minutes.
Anna played the ball to Indie who travelled upfield and found Joya who broke free from her marker and she opened herself up and sent a beautiful curling effort towards the bottom right hand corner of the goal but the Croydon keeper pulled off a great save but only managed to palm the ball into Kaseys path who smashed the ball home.
Joya was very unfortunate not to double the rockets lead shortly after the opening goal when a move involving Anna, Indie, Kasey, Yasmin and Joya resulted in a shot from Joya hitting the cross bar, Croydon who worked tirelessly began to play counter attacking football and 3 crosses were dealt with quite comfortably by Anna in the rockets goal.
The rockets doubled their lead on 25 minutes when from a Croydon goal kick Natasha pushed up and marked the right back, Kasey prevented a pass into the centre backs, El marked the left back, Indie pushed up and marked the left midfielder which left the Croydon keeper with very limited options from the kick and her attempted pass to one of her teammates was well read by Joya who nipped in and stole the ball and hammered home from 12 yards out.
On 36 minutes Croydon got themselves back in the game when on a counter attack a ball was played forward and the rockets right back raised her hand for offside but wasn't aware that she was 5 yards deeper than the rest of the defence and therefore playing the Croydon player onside, the winger. Tossed the ball into the box and an attacking midfielder brought the ball down superbly and volleyed past Anna to take the game into halftime with the score at 2-1 to the rockets.
The 2nd half started in the same manner as the 1st with the rockets playing good, passing football and creating numerous chances and it began to look like luck wasn't on the rockets side as on 2 more occasions the Croydon post was struck by shots from Kasey and Joya.
Kasey soon extended the rockets lead when another excellent pass from Joya set her free and she curled her shot into the top right hand corner of the goal despite the brave attempt from the Croydon goalkeeper to keep the shot out.
This 2 goal cushion relaxed the rockets and there were large parts where Croydon had ball possession in good areas but never forced Anna into a save and in turn the game became an end to end game as when Croydon pushed forward and lost possession then the rockets would attack.
Croydon then got themselves back to within a goal of the rockets when again 1 player played a Croydon striker onside and she raced away and stroked the ball home as Anna advanced of her line.
Croydon play with huge pride and belief and they done them selves proud with their performance but the rockets were unfortunate to win by just 1 goal, 
The post was hit 4 times, the crossbar once, and the keeper made several good saves but it's still 3 points in the bag
