The Kinja U9 Girls are the second year group as part of our Development Phase, having graduated from our Kinja Development Centre programme, and been a part of our U8 programme. Our U9 Girls continue to learn to be part of a team environment, where they play friendly matches against other teams, and understand the very basics of teamwork within a football environment.
What We Focus On
At this age group, the focus is still very much on helping the players improve their technical ability, ensuring that they continue to develop their ability to master their individual control of the ball while develop other basic skills such as passing and receiving the ball.
As they continue to be a part of a team environment and playing friendly matches against other teams, the focus for players is to build an understanding of basic positioning and the basic roles and responsibilities of Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders and Forwards. Players will experience playing in each position to develop the specific skills that are tested at each area on the pitch.
League & Matches
The U9 Boys will play 5-a-side football in the Capital Girls League. Friendly matches will be organised by the Capital Girls League as part of a "group" where each team will be played twice, all at a central venue provided by the league..
Matches will be played on Saturday mornings.
