The Kinja U11 Girls are the first year group as part of our Progression Phase. Having spent a few years learning to play as part of a team environment, and having experience playing friendly matches against other teams, they should look to have an advanced understanding of the basics of teamwork within a football environment.
What We Focus On
At this age group, players should have achieved a strong level of technical competency when it comes to their control of the ball, as well as other basic skills such as passing and receiving. Players should start developing advanced skills that will make them more creative and dangerous when coming up against opposition players.
As they continue to play friendly matches against other teams, the focus for players is to develop and advanced understanding of positions and the roles and responsibilities of Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders and Forwards. Players should still experience playing in each position to develop the specific skills that are tested at each area on the pitch.
League & Matches
The U11 Girls will play 7-a-side football in the Capital Girls League. Friendly matches will be organised by the Capital Girls League as part of a "group" where each team will be played twice, once at our home venue, and once at an away venue.
Matches will be played on Saturday mornings.
