The Kinja U12 Boys are the second year group as part of our Progression Phase. Having spent a few years learning to play as part of a team environment, and having experience playing friendly matches against other teams, they should look to have an advanced understanding of how to work as a team, and individually within a football environment.
What We Focus On
At this age group, players should have achieved a high level of technical competency when it comes to their control of the ball, as well as other basic skills such as passing and receiving. Players should continue developing advanced skills that will make them more creative and dangerous when coming up against opposition players.
As the recording of results, and league standings, are brought in at this age, players develop their sense of competitiveness, on the understanding that winning games earns you points. This means the focus for our players moves towards "creating a performance to win the game" whereby players must work individually and as a team to solve problems on the pitch in order to try and win the game, while also looking to perform in the way they have been taught to throughout the Kinja Football Pathway.
League & Matches
The U12 Boys will play 9-a-side football in the Harrow Youth League. Competitive matches will be organised by the Harrow Youth League as part of a "league" where each team will be played twice, once at our home venue, and once at an away venue.
Matches will be played on Sunday mornings.
