Kinja U16 Girls

The Kinja U16 Girls are the final year group as part of our Competitive Phase. Having spent a number of years learning to play as part of a team environment, and having experience playing competitive matches against other teams, they should look to have an advanced understanding of how to work as a team, and individually within a football environment, in order to achieve positive performances on the pitch.

What We Focus On

At this age group, players should be highly technically and tactically competent, and have developed an in depth understanding of different roles and responsibilities that are suitable for the different positions on the pitch. Players should continue to develop a deep understanding of different tactical systems, and how they can be used to overcome the questions that are asked by the opposition in games.

Players further their sense of competitiveness, and look to develop a winning mentality when it comes to competitive matches. This means the focus for our players becomes "creating a performance to win the game" whereby players must work individually and as a team to solve problems on the pitch in order to try and win the game, while also looking to perform in the way they have been taught to throughout the Kinja Football Pathway.

League & Matches

The U16 Boys will play 11-a-side football in the Capital Girls League. Competitive matches will be organised by the Capital Girls League as part of a "league" where each team will be played twice, once at our home venue, and once at an away venue.

Matches will be played on Saturday mornings.
