U11 rockets are third

The u11 Kinja Rockets fared excellently in the opening tournament in Hertfordshire [organised by the Hertfordshire girls league] by coming third in their age group amongst 18 teams.

We passed the group stage by defeating in a last crucial qualification match last year's league champions Garston ladies. Albeit having fallen behind by one early goal the girls showed their determination and resolution and fought back to win 2-1. The goals were a brilliant collective actions culminated by a goal from Piper Krase thanks to a through ball from Joya Cooper-Hohn, who then finalised a great counter attack with only seconds to spare.

The victory saw us through to the quarter finals where our formidable goalie Indie Cooper-Hohn saved three penalties while Mia Barry netted the decisive spot kick. Ina  close contested effort against Bury we lost 1-0 in the semi-final, but enough to gain a beautiful third place.

All the girls were brilliant and had a lot of fun on the day.
